Consumers who have additional telephone incoming telephone numbers that they believe FMA Alliance used in order to contact them are encouraged to share these telephone numbers by commenting. We will attempt to verify the numbers and add them to our list.

FMA Alliance’s office is located at 12339 Cutten Road in Houston, Texas 77066 and can “seat” up to 800 debt collectors. Like many collection agencies, FMA Alliance, Ltd is privately held and little is known about its ownership. FMA Alliance’s website is www.fmaalliance.com.

FMA Alliance, Ltd is licensed to collect consumer accounts in the State of Florida. FMA Alliance, Ltd. is organized under the laws of the State of Texas. FMA Alliance has not registered with the Florida Secretary of State in order to transact business in the State of Florida.

FMA Alliance, Ltd. does not sue Florida consumers. Nor am I aware that FMA Alliance sues consumers in any other states.

For an article describing several lawsuits that consumers filed against FMA Alliance for allegedly calling relatives or falsely threatening to file lawsuits against the consumers, click on the highlighted portion of this sentence.

I provide information concerning collection agencies to assist consumers in their on-line search for information. When I do so, I am not stating or implying anything about how the collection agency collects debts. Readers of this article often have experiences that are worth sharing with other consumers.

If you are a Florida resident and FMA Alliance is calling you (including leaving messages) about a consumer debt, you are welcome to contact me by completing the Collection Agency Harassment form in the right hand column. Florida residents are also welcome to call my office.

If you are a Florida resident, I will contact you to discuss your problem and evaluate your potential case without charge to you.

Consumers who FMA Alliance attempted to collect a debt from are welcome to comment about their experiences with FMA Alliance.

Got a call from 731-882-1277, caller id on Droid mobile showed call coming from Dyersburg, TN. But when I returned the call, all I got was a constant busy signal. Everytime I would hang up, with in a second of two a phone number would ring me back, everytime it was 731-882-1277 (FMA Alliance).

Does anyone know if they have been calling from a 877-360-0837 telephone number? They state they are with Alliance but will not give any more info. I’m wondering if this is FMA Alliance???

I received a phone call in which the name the call was for was unintelligible. I listened to the message to see who was calling. IT was FMA Alliance. Then I looked up their address online, which I found at College Station. I immediately wrote a letter telling them not to call this number, and not to take my listening to the call as any indication that I was who they sought. I got another call the next day. So, OK the letter probably had not been delivered yet. About a week later, another two calls. My husband hung up on the first one, and it rang back. So I looked again for an address and called them. Told them NOT to call me or I would seek redress under Fair Credit Reporting Act, that I had NO outstanding, undisputed debts. I was handed over to a manager who assured me that they would never call again. I was told the College Station office had closed and the mail probably had not been forwarded. Meanwhile, yesterday my letter came back marked “UNKNOWN CANNOT FORWARD” Today I have received two phone calls. I hung up on both. I will be speaking with my lawyer this weekend. RIGHT NOW I am calling them again to point out that they have violated their promise.

I just called them at 281-931-5050 and asked for the person in the office with the most authority. When asked what my call was about, I said “Your violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.” I was given a “Miss Fuentes” who (again) assured me she was deleting my number from the computer and off the account. Their numbers as of today:
(800) 955-5598 Toll Free
(281) 931-5050 Local
(281) 444-1004 Facsimile

I live in Michigan and this company calls me several times a day while I am working so I usually can’t make it to the cell in time to ask them not to call anymore.

I recieved a call from 888-262-6573..they said they were Alliance Legal Department…Is this the same agency?

Randy :

You’ve asked a great question that I do not know the answer to. There are at least a couple of debt collectors who have names which include “Alliance” or “Allied” besides “FMA Alliance”. I doubt any of them have a “Legal Department” which is authorized (and licensed) to file a lawsuit against a consumer. For more information about false threats to sue consumers violate the FDCPA, please refer to : http://www.fdcpa.me/do-collection-agencies-sue-fl/

Just got a call from 281-670-1571 from FMA Alliance. Wanted to know if I was still receiving mail at my address, wanted me to verify my name and address etc but I told them I’m not giving out any information if they didn’t tell me what it was in reference to and all they would say is it was in reference to their office. Well I’m sorry, you could be some random stranger calling and I’m not about to give out my information via the phone. If I had an outstanding debt, they could send me something via mail. They would know my address. But I don’t have any outstanding unpaid debts. Does anyone know what companies they have been hired to collect for? I’m curious to know if there is some kind of fraud going on under my name…

Horselover : Like most major collection agencies, FMA Alliance collects for a variety of debt buyers and probably original creditors. Since you do not have any past due accounts that are yours, I recommend that you obtain your credit reports (technically referred to as “consumer disclosures”) by ordering them on-line at 3w’s DOT annualcreditreport DOT Com. You do not need to buy any of the products (credit monitoring services, Fako Scores, etc) that their website promotes. Order the reports 1 X 1 and have them mailed to you. Then, review the reports for : (1) accounts that are not yours; and also (2) review the back sections to see who obtained your credit reports and/or obtained “Account Reviews” on you. If you see debt creditors or debt collectors you’ve never heard of, someone may have opened fraud accounts in your name but there are several other common scenarios (mismerged credit reports, FMA was doing a skip trace on someone else with a similar name, etc.) Good Luck

I have been getting calls from 469-341-7856, caller id states its from Texas. I answered today. they said they had legal documents to deliver. They gave me a number to call back for FMA, 855-625-3229.
They wanted my address, phone number(duh, you just called me?) and work address. Harrassment at its finest. I asked for information on the legal documents and they would not answer me. Said i had to call the other number and gave me a file name. Does this number sound familiar?

They have been calling me two or three times a day and the computerized voice asks for my adult sister. My sister is mentally ill and living in a group home, and has never lived here. Her only income is SS disability, which is barely enough to pay for the group home. My sister gets
“ill” often and calls 911 which sends an ambulance. She always gives my home number when she goes to the hospital because that is the only number that she can remember. I’ve tried letting these idiots know this, but no one ever answers when I select an option. It’s maddening. What is the point of calling people if no human can be reached?

Try this one: 281-975-2612. The caller ID does show FMA Alliance. Unfortunately, if you try to hang up on them or block their number, they will resort to using an “Unavailable” ID on your phone so they can’t be blocked. They are to me a “moblike” organization, using tactics that would bring Jimmy Hoffa back from the dead. Also, look out for Portfolio Recovery. They will hold nothing back either.

Clifton.
